Gerard graduated from the Western Sydney University in 2006 with a degree in Podiatric Medicine. He has worked in both private practice and the public health system, where he also trained and mentored students from Western Sydney University and the University of Newcastle.

Gerard consulted to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Rugby League Football Club from 2013 - 2018. With expertise in injury management, footwear prescription and treatment, he helps both elite athletes and everyday individuals stay active and pain-free.
